People like to read meaningful, engaging comments on their blogs. Comments like “Cool” or “I disagree” are vapid and meaningless. Think about what has been written. Chew on it for awhile. A meaningful comment should be at least 4 sentences, can contain encouragement, and should always be specific. Consider the following two responses:
“Yeah, that was kul. I totally agree.”
“That was great to read how encouraging your parents where when you shared your personality with them! I agree with them that I see you as a leader – you are the kind of person people want in charge of groups because you care about people and you know how to get stuff done. I see that totally jiving with your spiritual gifts of leadership and administration – you would make an awesome leader of a business, or a mission, or any type of ministry. On our team you’re the kind of person we need to put in charge of important things.”
Try to emulate the second and avoid the first.
Part One
1. Schedule an hour with your mom and dad and ask them these questions (come prepared!):
- Here is my personality profile (share with them the results of your Myers-Briggs – the page that details your 4-letter type). Do you see this in me?
- Here are my spiritual gifts (share with them the strongest ones and be sure you and they understand what they mean). How do you see these in me?
- How do you see my personality type and my spiritual gifts fitting together?
- How do you see me using the strengths of my personality and my spiritual gifts to serve God?
- How do you see Christ working in me?
- What is the impact of Christ on my life?
- Would you be willing to write me a letter in which you explain your answers to what we’ve just talked about? It would be really meaningful to have those things in writing.
2. After your interview write a one paragraph summary of what they said and a one paragraph reaction in which you summarize your thoughts and feelings as you asked these questions and heard their answers. Post these two paragraphs on your blog.
Part Two
- Read Chapter 6 section 1, “Communicating Clearly.” (this has been sent to you in your e-mail – the Spanish translation will come soon)
- Work through the questions in your journal
- Read Chapter 6 section 2, “Communicating Clearly."
- Work through the questions in section 2. I realize that some time ago you wrote your testimony for us. That was practice. Rework it as you work through this section.
- Post your 2-paragraph, clearly written testimony on your blog.
Part Three
- Visit TWO other blogs. Post meaningful comments to their part one.
- Visit TWO other blogs. Evaluate their testimonies according to the criteria you learned about in Chapter 6 section 2. Post meaningful comments and critiques.

A la gente le gusta leer comentarios significativos y atractivos en sus blogs. Comentarios de su blogs como "Solido" o "No estoy de acuerdo" son sonsonos y sin significado. Piense en lo que ha sido escrito. Mastíquelo por un momento. Un comentario significativo debería de ser de al menos 4 oraciones, puede contener algo que estimule o anime, y siempre deberá ser específico. Considere las siguientes dos respuestas:
“Sí, esto estaba solido. Estoy totalmente de acuerdo."
"Fue bueno leer que tan animados estaban tus padres cuando compartiste con ellos acerca de tu personalidad! Estoy de acuerdo con ellos y yo también te veo como un líder – tú eres el tipo de persona que la gente quiere a cargo de grupos porque a ti te importa la gente y sabes como hacer las cosas. Yo veo las cosas marchando bien con tus dones espirituales de liderazgo y administración – tu serias un tremendo líder de un negocio, o de una misión, o de cualquier tipo de ministerio. Tu eres el tipo de persona que necesitamos en nuestro equipo para que este a cargo de los asuntos importantes"
Traten de imitar el segundo ejemplo y de evitar el primero.
Asignación Uno
1. Planifica una hora con tu mamá y papá y hazle estas preguntas (llegue preparado!):
- Aquí está mi perfil de personalidad (comparte con ellos los resultados de tu Myers-Briggs - la página que detalla tu 4 tipos de letras). ¿Ves esto en mí?
- Aquí están mis dones espirituales (comparte con ellos los más fuertes y asegúrate que tanto tu como ellos entienden lo que significan). ¿Cómo ves esto en mí?
- ¿Cómo crees tu que mi tipo de personalidad y mis dones espirituales encajan juntos?
- ¿En que forma crees tu que yo uso las fortalezas de mi personalidad y mis dones espirituales en el servicio a Dios?
- ¿Cómo crees tú que Cristo esta trabajando en mí?
- ¿Cómo crees tú que Cristo ha impactado mi vida?
- ¿Estarías dispuesto a escribirme una carta en la que expliques tus respuestas a lo que acabamos de hablar? Sería realmente significativo tener estas cosas por escrito.
2. Después de la entrevista escribe un resumen de un párrafo acerca de lo que ellos dijeron y un párrafo acerca de tu reacción en el que resumas tus ideas y sentimientos acerca de cuando hiciste estas preguntas y escuchaste sus respuestas. Publica estos dos párrafos en tu blog.

- Lee la sección 1 del Capítulo 6, "Comunicándose Claramente. " (esto ya se te envió a tu email-la traducción en español pronto estará lista)
- Desarrolla las preguntas en tu diario
- Lee la sección 2 del Capítulo 6, " Comunicándose Claramente. "
- Desarrolla las preguntas en la sección 2. Se que hace un tiempo atrás escribiste tu testimonio. Eso era una práctica. Vuelve a elabóralo al trabajar esta sección.
- Publica tus 2 párrafos, tu testimonio claramente escrito en tu blog.

- Visita otros DOS blogs. Pública comentarios significativos a su asignación numero uno.
- Visita otros DOS blogs. Evalúa sus testimonios de acuerdo a los criterios que aprendiste en la sección 2 del Capítulo 6. Publica criticas y comentarios significativos.
